American Plains Artists Reception

YT Ranch Resource Day - Goldsmith,Texas

The APA members were guests of Schuyler Wight and the YT Ranch on August 29, 2008.

Mr. Frank Sharp , a longhorn expert from the Cattlemen's Texas Longhorn Registry, gave a very interesting and

informative talk on the original Longhorn Cattle. Their group strives to document and preserve the pure longhorn breed.

We were also very fortunate to be able to enjoy an authentic chuck wagon lunch prepared and served onsite by Bill Morgette

During the morning and afternoon hours, we had the opportunity to draw, paint and photograph longhorn cattle, calves,

cowboys, cowgirls and various animals and scenery on the ranch. It was a very enjoyable and productive time for all of us.
